2016 February Update

Hey there, guys!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know what’s been going on. I’ve been working hard with a new collaborator of mine, Lily Xavier, to bring you a game I hope you’ll be able to buy and download on Steam! It’s called “Last Arrival”, and is shaping up to be a hell of a cerebral experience. She is doing most of the writing while I am doing the graphics and general game design while we go back and forth on things. A truly delightful partnership, if I do say so myself!

+Last Arrival+

LA is a traditional RPG game made in RPG Maker MV, with sets of custom graphics and eventually custom music and whatnot. We’re just getting the groundwork laid out right now, but we hope to have it up and running over the course of the year.

+Final Fantasy VII: Emotional Crisis+

A fangame I’ve been working on using the Ren’Py engine! Graphics are being made, and dialogue is being written. There are 20, no that’s not a typo, TWENTY dateable characters from the beloved evil Shinra Corporation. Woo them all, have a great time. 😀

+Fata Morgana+

FM is probably going to be my magnum opus one day, so it’s been put on the back burner while I work on these other projects. 🙂 I’d need programmers to help me out with this one, so we’ll see where it goes in a couple of years!

That’s the game update for now! Look over in concept art for some pics of characters and how the games are coming along. I plan on being more active and documenting the development of Last Arrival here, so hang on tight!

Some big changes

Well, with a host of medical issues stacking up, having to temporarily drop out of med school (I am returning in March), and acquiring a roommate, things have been a bit crazy over here! That’s no excuse to leave you guys hanging, so here are some updates on what’s going on with our current projects:

+Fata Morgana+

This is being postponed until after med school, sometime in my residency or beyond, when I can afford to hire my sound guy full time as well as programmers, artists, etc.

+I Am Eden+

Well, I’ve been working out the kinks on working on this one with Meghan, and we seem to have come to a consensus on how we’re going to move forward with it. For now, though, we’re gaining more experience with branching storytelling through another work in progress…

+Final Fantasy VII: Emotional Crisis+

The newest addition to our in-development list! It is being built using the Ren’Py engine, and will be of the dating game/visual novel type games! We hope it will pay homage to one of the greatest game franchises of all time, the Final Fantasy series and particularly FFVII. We have the greatest respect for Square over here, and have been long time fans of the Final Fantasy series. We, of course, expect to make zero profit from the game and only wish it to be a tribute. And a lot of fun, of course! We encourage everyone to go out and buy the official FFVII game on Steam/PC, for the PS1, or when it comes out later this year for the PS4!

Hey folks, we’re working hard on the Twine game, “I Am Eden”. We recently hired author Jack Vivace to work on creating the religion of the world. It’s going to be a government-run Pantheon comprised of old religions that are now smashed together into one behemoth of a religion. Other updates include the fact that Meghan and I have been working on the outline, and a “passivity vs. aggression” system depending on how you treat the voice in your head.

I’ve also been working on making icons for an RPG Maker VX Ace game based on my novel, Bridge Cast in Black. Coming soon…an Adrian icon set. The game is planned to consist of mostly custom graphics, so it’s going to take a while for one med student to create them all. Hang tight!

Short post, but sweet.
